…as every living being's brain is wired to react one way and one way only from any kind of stimuli.
For example if you decide to have a cup of coffee, you didn't actually make that decision yourself. Your brain had a reaction and made you have that coffee. You had no actual choice in the matter, since no matter what happens, your brain reacts one way. Therefore you were always going to have that coffee.
Sorry to ruin your day.

The only version I heard for years was by Gordon Lightfoot so I always thought of Bobby as a female. I know the Janis Joplin version but I disregard it because it's Janis Joplin.
