Yeah, that part had my mouth wide open. Not because it was shocking, but because of how pointless it seemed. She came that far and decided to try and kill herself, and then a split second afterwards she thinks, "Oh, no, wait, my bad. Oh looky, duct tape!" At least I think that's what she was trying to do

The only problem with her self induced trach is I've never seen one without something being placed in the hole, like a pen casing or fish tank hose or a strawbecause you're still basically just choking on the same blood without something to open that up
The duct tape was just silly, imo -

If she had so much blood in the back of her throat/trachea/lungs that she couldn't cough it up? She made a hole and bent forward, and a long stream of blood came pouring out. And then she taped it up.
Maybe that's how the director pictured it going down at least. In medical terms that was a retarded tracheotomy, and would only make more blood pour into her trachea and lungs. If that was how he pictured it, why wouldn't she have just bent over completely forward, almost standing on her head? Because she didn't wanna get blood up her nose? After all, she is a woman, and probably holds her nose before jumping in the pool. -

At first I thought she was going to use it to breathe out of, and was going to insert a straw or hose of some sort, however when she duck taped it upooooo, her motive became more clear to me. She was bleeding. Internally. She had a buildup of blood in her lower throat/chest area and was struggling to breathe air because of it. While Poking a hole in her throat at that location could be used for a tracheotomy, duck taping it up makes it more clear that she has made an exit hole for the build up of fluid and blood to drain out, so that she could in fact breathe again. That's why the fluid and blood jetted out spraying at first, and then slowed down - its like lancing a boil in a way where you would create an opening for the pus and blood and bile to come out of, much like here except she was literally drowning on her own blood and fluids, really leaving her this only one option. How she still had the clarity to think of this, and calmly do it on the other hand, I am still trying to figure out!
