Loved this adaptation which was pretty close to the story. Although the ending was different, I think it was better.

Have you ever noticed the formula for these movies is always the same. There's someone who has a good idea of how to contain the threat, and there's always a group of rabble rousers who just don't believe or want to cause trouble and always have to gum up the works.

I believe they already did that about 9 years ago. I'm not aware of any current re-attempt.

I really like Mike Flanagan, but I'm not enthused about this or his announced Carrie series. Both were done perfectly the first time. Plenty of King novels to choose from that weren't or that have never been adapted at all.

They did. It was terrible. I wish they’d leave some of these alone and not attempt a remake. They are rarely successful.

Fun fact: Stephen King was so disturbed by the changed ending of The Mist (the original just had them driving off into the mist in search of help), he forbid anyone from changing it.
