This whole film is predicated around the false pretense that everything the media propagates about the "war on terror" is true and propounds political stances that can help 'solve' this problem that does not even exist to begin with. Very poorly written, the writer must've watched a whole bunch of CNN and Fox News and presumed that everything they were reporting was god's honest truth as it pertains to the "war on terror." I'm a huge Tom Cruise fan but this movie was a laughable attempt at initiating a political conversation amongst the audience about events that are questionable to begin with in the first place.

But the movie does exactly the opposite of what you're saying
It criticizes how the media gobbled up propaganda about that war
It mourns two students that died in a war instead of fulfilling a happy and productive life in their country
What were you watching?
And how does your brain work?
