Cops seem to only be able to function well in a group while beating blacks to death in the streets.

Hank shouldn't have wondered how he got the fake phone call about Marie being in a car accident. He phoned Walt asking if he remembered if Pinkman had an RV. Jesse leaves his house not long after.
At that point I'm not sure if he forgot that when he encountered Tuco in the desert he was looking for Pinkman's car because Walt was missing.
He should have been suspicious by this time.
