Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Breaking Bad

    bambinoson12 — 9 years ago(October 06, 2016 03:17 AM)

He pretended the stab wound was horrible and fell to the ground in agony. Walt Jr. would think his mom is nuts.
Walt can tell Jr. that Skylar killed Uncle Hank. She and Ted were the brains behind everything because they were having an affair and Ted needed the money to pay back IRS. Skylar executed Fring and made Walt cook meth under duress to pay Ted. But then she and Ted had a falling out and she put Ted in the hospital. That she sent the kids away and threatened to murder Walt Jr. if Walt did not cooperate.
Walt Jr. will believe his dad because Skylar is the one who just pulled a knife.
If I'm a teen and I see my mom pull a knife and stab my Dad, seemingly unprovoked, and he falls crying in agony I'd call the cops on HER.

and this story can really work because all Walt had to do it get to Ted first, which will be easy with Skylar in jail, and tell him to go with HIS story or his daughters will be buried 6 feet under.

Even if you worship Walt and hate Skyler's guts, that makes
        absolutely zero sense
. Jr was with Skyler at the car wash that whole day, after Walt rushed off like fire under his butt (does that saying exist in English?) Meanwhile Hank died somewhere and Walt turned up dirty af in an unknown vehicle with 10 million dollars in a barrel and not even denying Hank's dead, after Skyler and Marie had told Jr that Hank had arrested Walt. No one over the age of 2 and under the age of absolute dementia would believe that story, it's ridiculous. Where would Walt even say he was that afternoon, how would he explain the random pick-up truck and the money, and the fact that he even knew Hank was dead? How would he know he was dead if he wasn't there when it happened? Walt sucked at lying to his family.
Do you even know what honor is?

No I don't hate Skyler, far from it. It's just that Walt was always so crafty to come up with unseen angles to every potential situation that it would have been cool for him to pull off something just completely stunning like this, or at least attempt to.
He can say "I didn't kill HANK. It was your mother. She poisoned Hank and forced me to bury the body.Just Stop it!! Enough Skyler!! You and Ted Beneke are through ruining our family."
"You want to know the truth. You want to know why Jr? Skyler killed Hank because he was going to arrest Ted and her for building a meth empire together!! Skyler was cheating on me while I had cancer!!"
Etc. Etc. He can come up with a really good story and blame everything on Skyler including the Meth Empire. Call the police for the stabbing and get her in jail. Then get Ted to be his witness that Skyler was running a drug empire initially financed with stolen Beneke company money.
With Hank and the DEA dead it's Skyler's word vs Walt, but Walt will have Saul and hired thugs and money for more top lawyers AND the word (bought and coerced) of Ted Beneke that this was ALL Skyler's drug empire.
As far as the kids they will be fine with some other relative and a boatload of money to be laundered.

Well, there is also the problem of the Heisenberg sketch from way back looking exactly like Walt and nothing like Skyler or Ted. The lab equipment was initially stolen from Walt's own class, Walt was the one who was the chemistry genius how would either Skyler or Beneke even know how to make meth as pure as Heisenberg's?
Besides, Ted had been since before Gus even died in the hospital attached to that iron thing that seemingly kept his spine from collapsing. I don't even know if he could testify, the dude seemed terrified not to mention disabled, let alone run a meth empire in his condition.
I really don't believe anyone would ever buy Skyler being the mastermind behind everything. Walt would go to prison in this scenario anyways, because he would have exposed himself at least as an accomplice to murder (Hank's) and he would have to go kill Marie (who obviously knows he's Heisenberg) and that might be hard under intense police scrutiny, and really too much of a coincidence to blame anyone else on. There's also that tape Walt and Skyler made in 'Confessions' where Walt actually confesses to being Heisenberg (but claiming Hank forced him to be) and we know there are at least two copies of that. There's simply no way he could deny having prior knowledge of everything, which would be his only way of keeping out of prison.
And what other relative? They didn't have any after Hank died and Walt would have had to murder Marie. Ditto on the money to launder, what money? The DEA would have confiscated that 10m on their parkway regardless of who made it. If Walt had called the police on Skyler he could not have fled with the cash, so it would have been taken by the police.

to be honest I'm just surprised that a "Big Twist" never came and that Walter wasn't setting up Skyler to take the fall from day 1 since she agreed to be a silent partner.
That would have been some ending if they could have had Walter set up Skyler the entire time accumulating loads of incriminating evidence and have her go to prison for the Meth Empire.
I never bought the whole "kids need their mother" schtick as a reason Walt needed Skyler. Yes he loves her and that should have been the only reason, but not that they needed her. Walter Jr. was independent, about to become 18 and could easily take care of Holly if left with a large trust fund.
Now Walt having his kids and the money and Skyler goes to jail (payback for banging Beneke) would have been the ultimate win. I know the show wanted to have him deal with consequences but not all bad people face punishment.

Now that I think of it, Skyler is probably the one who put the book on the toilet. Genius.
Think the twist could have been having Skyler and Ted getting caught for the IRS stuff, having Saul trying to get her out, while Walt ran the house for a couple months. That would have been ironic.
