Can someone explain to me how confessionals work?

I've always been confused about the confessional segments in these type of shows where the cast narrate the scenes (not when they go into the actual confessional room, I mean when they're talking with the green screen). When are these filmed? When they talk it feels like they're still in that moment, so I don't understand how this works? Like for example, if a fight happens, the girls will talk crap, but a scene later they'll make up. So if these are filmed long after the events unfold, why would they trash each other knowing they've already made up?
These are what I'm referring to:

They are typically filmed for about 90-120m every every other night or a few times a week. Yes they are filmed way after events take place so are made to keep the same clothes on. Occasionally they can go in and film a quick clip after something major happens ( think Rocky trash talking Alicia after Alicia sneak attacked her) but they mainly take place after events. The production will ask them questions and they have to answer them fully. For example, they may ask "What did xxxxx do to piss you off?" They can't reply "She did blah blah blah", they have to respond "xxxx pissed me off because she did blah blah blah". It's not uncommon at all for them to shoot the same response to a question multiple times In a row to get the sound bite that they need and even then they have to rely on frankenbites.

that's actually really interesting! I always wondered this! BGC is one of the last shows to be almost completely real, not like other scripted reality shows (though I know some things are played around with). I always just kind of assumed they film all of the interviews a bit after finishing filming in the house. when I was younger and watched Flavor of Love all the time remember thinking they would do it everyday. so I guess the actual truth is that they do it right in the middle! thanks for the info
that is pretty cool that they can get the most genuine reactions from the girls by interviewing whenever throughout. -

Sorry, I should have clarified; the OP said "these types of shows" so I was just projecting my own work experiences I had on other shows onto BGC. I haven't actually worked on BGC myself lol.
It's not almost completely real and a LOT is played around with
But I get what you mean when comparing it to scripted reality, that is just ridiculous IMO. But there are a lot of retakes with shows like BGCs (by that I mean interviews, not fights or things that happen in the moment) a lot of passive and not so passive manipulation and editing galore. They have to fit a two to three month period into a twelve to thirteen episode narrative and the amount of footage that they have may be gold but most of it is useless if it can't ultimately make sense even after all the editing. A lot of it can't be used for legal/copyright reasons either. -

Is that a joke?? BGC is not real at all. It used to slightly be in the earlier seasons but now it is not. It's no different, if not worse than most reality shows on today. And the producers of this show are terribleee.

I would really like someone to do an AMA that worked on the show, a security guard did one I believe and that was pretty cool, but I actually want to learn more about the shows process! there's probably so much work that goes into this show (as low-rated as it is haha). imagine the raw footage over 17 seasons these producers have over +100 girls? probably gold lol
