You can examine a human vagina closely to see if the hymen is in tact. It's a small clear piece of skin.
Otherwise, they probably asked her or she mentioned it.
There is another possibility that they used some sort of object to break the hymen to confirm if she was a virgin or not. -

Two things:
- If a girl has a hymen, it is easy to confirm that they are a virgin. This is done by simply having a look.
- You do NOT confirm that a girl is a virgin by breaking their hymen. You would be confirming and taking their virginity away in one go.

Correct. I recall reading about this back in the day. The Royal Gynecologist thoroughly examined Diana to validate her virginity. He was said to have performed a bi-manual exam on her, placing his left hand on her abdomen and inserting the index and middle finger of his right hand into her vagina to check, while her feet were in stirrups.

No. Though it's a popular urban legend - very popular for all those people who want to believe in the myth of Diana's virginity. Diana was examined by a gynecologist to ensure that she could have children - a very important quality as her paramount duty would be to produce an heir to the throne. Now Diana's uncle did publicly say that Diana had never had a lover - yeah, as if an uncle she had little to do with was kept up to date on his young niece's sex life as she lived in her own flat in London. Those two things have gotten conflated into the gynecologist confirmed her virginity.
You know the famous saying about Charles? "There were no virgins left in his generation. Why? Because he f**cked them all." Charles had sex with the women he dated. And he dated a lot of them.
If
Diana was a virgin when she met Charles, she was no longer well before the wedding. The two of them spent the night together at Highgrove while it was being refurbished. Charles' valet, in the biography he wrote, mentions driving Diana back to London early in the morning after these nights. Charles and Diana also lived together after they were engaged. The night the engagement was announced Diana was placed with the Queen Mother in Clarence House,

What is amazing to me is Liam Neeson's impeccable timing maybe 30 seconds too late and she would definitely NOT be a virgin. Lmao.
Liam Neeson's timing is necessary for the (male) viewer to be emotionally invested in Neeson's/Bryan's mission.
Had he arrived later, his daughter would've been "damaged goods" -
that's also why the movie had to establish in the auction scene that she was still a virgin.
Otherwise many viewers wouldnt be able to empathize with the father anymore in wanting to save the daughter.
Could be interesting for a psychoanalytical interpretation:

This wish/image could be signified in her running like an actual 5 year old.
The father feels emasculated;the stepather's present is bigger than his; he's retired, and he might loose his daugthers affections to his replacement, the stepfather, the horse, or eventually a guy.
He can't let her grow up; since discovering and developing their sexuality is a way for adolescents do detach themselves from their parents, her sexuality is the biggest danger.
The very first (cute) guy we see the daughter talking to is actually an evil traficker.
Basically the plot is a paranoic oedipal (well, elektra-ish?) dad's nightmare

fantasy.
The father's mission is actually not to save his daughter, but to save his daughter's
virginity
.
Which is subconsciously understood by the audience, hence the multiude of posts by guys on the legitimacy of her virginity. -

I think on the black market though, if they're selling someone as a 'pure virgin', most likely they do still have the hymen intact (since that's like a certificate of authenticity), which means they're harder to find since many virgins either don't have or lose their hymen, and hence more sought after and more expensive. even if you were rich, would you spend 100's of thousands of dollars on a maybe-virgin? of course not. you'd want proof that it was the real deal. so if there are virgins with no hymens, they probably can't sell them as virgins, but can still sell them as top quality.
the scene was put into the movie more to relieve the audience in the fact that she wasn't sold to anyone for sex yet. obviously her friend wasn't a virgin since they sold her off to the lower class whore houses, the only place they could make money off of loosey goosey. (see kids, sex does kill! if you would have waited, liam would have saved you from certain doom!) -

It's not cool to make fun of somebody for asking a question. Each person has to learn about sex; we're not born with the knowledge.
Anybody can examine a woman to see if she is a virgin; doesn't have to be a doctor. Since Kim is an innocent girl, they would also have been able to see her terror and get answers to their questions. The gangsters need to have good people skills in order to take advantage of others. -

There is a piece of skin, about 2 inches into the vagina. It tears during the first intercourse (that's what's causing the bleeding). Sometimes the tear is small and there is almost no blood, sometimes it tears during sport without sex or when the girl has a very strong period. In those cases, when it tore earlier, there is no way to tell if she is a virgin.
However, if the skin is intact, you can tell by quite simply looking into the vagina or carefully probing her with a finger. -

I am willing to bet somewhere in the group they have the girls examined. After seeing this movie I was shocked to learn at the lengths these type of scum go to to make oney off selling and trading women. They employee doctors, gynos, etc. They drug the girsl they get a physical and like in th emovie if they are found to be pure they are resold to the highest bidder who after deflowering them either kills them or trades them off to another sex slave group who prostitues them for money and a share is kicked back to the original purchaser.
