In most cases using a first name is not doxxing (unless you have been given a very unique one) and some people are okay with their name being used. But if that name is or has been deliberately used along with other snippets of personal information I'd say someone has a right to call it doxxing.
When I joined IMDb people were a lot more open (you can also say we were naive) and a few even had their real name as their user name. So when the AI behind IMDb created a user name from my email address I wasn't bothered. Even after changing it to more anonymous names I was still open about who I was but people should still address me by my user name (or an old user name they preferred).
The first person to continuously use my real name on the boards was definitely not doing so in a friendly manner and it has been that way ever since. You get used to it and even when Steve did it here (before I turned up) I saw it as just part of the same old crap I've been living with since 2010. He'd come across as friendly but we both know he'd been insulting, threatening and slandering me, probably thinking it was okay because he'd seen other people doing the same thing.
So when he posted that thread about using people's real names and telling lies about them I replied with "So don't do it then" or something like that.
Things snowballed after that. -

That was ages ago and that has nothing to do with why I'm not on The Exiles board. Azn has joined the **** stirrers club apparently.

But that was a separate 'drama'. It has nothing to do with anything at this point. The Hive is Dead.
