The code system was mainly a thing in the 70s, 80s maybe. I don't think many people use it any more.

i swear to Dogg that its a huge thing here in Newfoundland. its almost exclusively baymen who do it, its like they are trying to make a bond with you or something. luckily im from town so i usually only experience this while up at the cabin
