I wouldn't count Gravity personally, more of a disaster movie in space than anything else.
If we're using 2013 as the cut off, I guess these were all the ones that were at least decent:

        1. Under the Skin
        2. Coherence
        3. Mad Max Fury Road (Post-apocalyptic counts!)
        4. Snowpiercer
        5. Edge of Tommorow
        6. Ex Machina
        7. High Rise
        8. Her
        9. Interstellar
        10. The Martian

          Adding some of those:

          1. Her
          2. Arrival
          3. Ex Machina
          4. Mad Max: Fury Road
          5. Gravity
          6. Interstellar
          7. Under the Skin
          8. The Martian
          9. Edge of Tomorrow

Not sure what it is about Her that doesn't grab me. Maybe it just felt a littlesafe? Too cuddly?
You should watch High_Rise and Snowpiercer for sure. Both amusing and disturbing class metaphor movies.

More of a disaster of a movie. It's atrocious.

Eh, I enjoyed it. Characterization is fairly generic but still engaging.

Gravity isn't Sci-Fi. It's your average survival story in space. Science literally has nothing to do with it.

Ranking yours + Future's (only the ones I've seen, obviously):
                      1.
                      Mad Max: Fury Road
                      2.
                      Arrival
                      3.
                      Her
                      4.
                      Interstellar
                      5.
                      Ex Machina
                      6.
                      Edge of Tomorrow
                      7.
                      Under the Skin
                      8.
                      The Martian
                      9.
                      Gravity
And I agree with Future that
                      Gravity
is not really sci-fi, though I still included it to emphasize that I don't really care for it.

you should watch coherence. it's one of those one location, low budget indie movies made with the heart. great flick.
