I definetly did, especially when the footage of the real Harvey Milk is shown after the movie. Very sad indeed.

Thing is, I didn't. My mom was crying at the sight of the procession, but I felt more awed. And satisfied that Milk's death meant something to those people.
I've only cried at the ends of "Missing", "Mystic River", and "Flammen & Citronen" (oh and that "Baby Mine" song in Dumbo", but anyone would cry at that one). But the end of "Milk" didn't make me weep for some reason. Maybe because I kinda knew how Milk died before watching the film.

I actually thought I would, but I didn't. I was pretty choked up though.

I cried harder than I've ever cried from a movie. In fact it sent me into a serious procession of deep thoughts. I always knew that being gay is a struggle (i'm gay) but being reminded of what Harvey Milk and so many others had to go through to get to the point we are today, well it just completely moved me. I've actually only watched it a couple times because of the serious impact it has on me. What an amazing film.

I cried at the beginning too, when the news clip was going on. I went with my mom and she cried too, we live 40 minutes from SF and she vividly remembers when it happened.

                        Straight guy here cried too.
It's incredible how much suffering can be brought into this world just because people don't like what others do in their bedrooms.

Watched it last night and was sobbing by the end.
The combination of the real footage and also the expressions on both James Franco's and Alison Pill as they were watching the marchit was so touching.
The two actors looked completely overwhelmed at the site they were seeing. That's what got to me.
And also Harevy's monologue at the end.

I didn't cry at the movie. I did all my crying for Harvey Milk in 1978 when he actually died.

I am quite sure, shy of being stung by a scorpion on my scrotum in the last scene, you would not have found me crying at the end of this movie.
But the question is actually fascinating. It shows the distance between the values system of homosexuals and non-homosexuals. I cannot imagine a straight person finding the ending rising to the level of tears. Not a true straight male. That, in and of itself tells how different we are and maybe we should not expect the ever truly reconsile those differeneces. This, in some ways, contradicts the assertion that homosexuals are "just like heterosexuals" except that they desire sex with other men. There seems to be other differences also.

That, my friend, is because you are a sociopath and lack empathy. The testimonies on this board, ON THIS VERY THREAD EVEN, and from critics worldwide completely fly in the face of the claim you make. LOTS of heterosexuals shed tears at the end of this movie, because they are emotionally capable of identifying with the struggles of fellow human beings. You are not.

I'm a straight male and yes I wiped away a few tears at the end. It was a truly heartbreaking story, Harvey was so much more than just a politician. Without the Harvey's & the Martin Luther King Jr's of this world goodness knows what life would be like now. Such a shame there's always some insecure cretin wanting to point the gun.

i am a crier, i'll admit. but when milk was shot and i didn't cry, i surprised myself and thought, wow, will this be the first time i do not cry at the movie ending, especially with the topic as important as this one.
and then the scene with candles came on and i was sobbing like a little kid. and for 10 minutes after the movie.

Least for me the candle seen was the one that got me too. Maybe with all the shootings and deaths in movies, maybe what gets is is what would not be most likely too in real life.
