That's why I hate these 28 Weeks Later sequels. Their explanations are non existent. It is just always some half ass excuse to make another movie about an infection.
This is why zombies never get stale. Zombies has a clear cut morphology. It's set and never really deviates.
But these 28 Weeks Later sequels are full of ****. See, I'm not even sure which movie this is a sequel of…28 Days or 28 Weeks??

so their version is that it was a "rage" virus. which basically made them really angry and not quite zombies.
yeah, they didn't eat cuz they mad. but it seems some figured out how to eat other stuff and some evolved to not be quite so mad. some also learned to f-ck. some appear to be in hibernation or whatever.
but apparently none of them ever figured out how to swim
