I think she is who she's always been. Other characters (Melissa, Adam) have told her she just wants to burn everything down and watch it explode, they are right. She's always been this person and the wilderness brought it out of her. She tried to live normally when she got out but she can't, or really she doesn't want to. When Natalie was dying, her younger self turned to her in her vision and said "This is exactly where we belong, we've been here for years", its the same for Shauna and all of them, they've been there for years. They were taken out of the wilderness, but the wilderness and what they did in it, couldn't be taken out of them.
