In the Aesop's fable about the frogs that wanted a king, which was told to Hannah and the other scientist by Kodiak, how do you think it ties into the series symbolically? It wasn't picked for no reason, the writers are into symbolism and foreshadowing. I think Zeus represents Lottie, or the wilderness via Lottie. The frogs are obviously the yellowjackets overall but especially the weaker ones. The log is Natalie, and the crane is Shauna. Natalie provided leadership which lead to peace and stability if a bit hands off, Shauna's will usher in the worst of their destruction to be seen out there and is out for power & blood. This is all just opinion/speculation/me reading further into things than is probably necessary. This is what Film & TV forum boards are for though.

Kodiak tells it to Edwin and Hannah in the beginning of episode 7. To summarize the story it's about a bunch of frogs in a pond who beg zeus for a king because they want to be ruled over, so zeus makes a log fall out of the sky into the pond to be their king, the frogs have a king now but as it's a log it doesn't do anything but float in the water, the frogs eventually become bored of this and beg zeus again for a new king, this time he sends a crane which just devours all of them. The lesson is, I think, to be happy with your boring peace because the alternatives can be way worse.
