I have never in my life seen/heard a character who was constantly crying, whining, hyperventilating, blubbering or just plain flutter-breathing literally every moment of her appearance when that appearance spanned essentially the entire movie - extending even in the final voiceover.
I find it difficult to believe she was written and directed this way. Unreal. Easily the most annoying, idiotic character I have seen in years.

I've felt like that at the beginning, but then I accepted her, as she showed a dose of common sense and was rather useful.

        she was really grating.
Sometimes her acting was pretty hilarious though: in particular the scene where she starts digging up the grave (which had the bodies covered under about one inch of loosely packed dirt?) and then starts to freak out, jumping off the ground doing these strange spasms and screaming. I couldn't stop laughing.

Well, to be fair, in that scene she thought her father was killed. That would freak out most of us (and everybody would react in a different way).
BTW, the graves were so shallow because the ground is probably frozen, too. Digging more than a few inches below the surface (which gets some warmth from sunlight) would be way too bothersome.

              SPOILERSSSS
For the first half of the movie, I totally agree with you. I was so angry I wanted to throw my dinner at the tv. I should NOT have been eating during this film, btw, because I was so sick afterward. LOL
Anyway, I was thinking the only other movie where I really was so angry at the characters had to be Wrong Turn 4. I hated almost all those characters - I think what made me think of it was Kyle Schmid's character because I think he was in WT4 also. hehe Toward the end, though, she really became stronger and knew what to do. The whole end sequence was ridiculous. It is amazing to me that they would let Kruipen on the helicopter and just take his word for what was happening and believe he wasn't infected but that the people left were. That was so stupid.
What was stupid also was how Evy wanted to give mouth to mouth to Jane after she spewed all that muddy green/brown goo out of her mouth and died. Yeah, that is who I want to put my mouth on. LOL

The actress is so bad and irritating. She couldn't convey any emotions and all her emotional scenes were laughable. That face, those whinings, those screams Yuk. First she was irritating, then completely unbearable, despite the few good decisions she made.
