Opening Credits Foreshadowing?

The latter part of the open credits sounds like the "bugs" have started a global epidemic. Then the crow appearing in the very beginning next to the Polar bear and in the last scene with the dog. It seems that Evie really didn't stop the disaster but just postponed it.
Did anyone else come to the same conclusion?
