I am sorry I doubted you. I just finished watching the film. It is a masterpiece! The best film adaptation of the novel. All the others make a mockery of Mary Shelly's brilliance.
I didnt think Del Toro could pull it off. I was expecting more tripe like that movie Del Toro did about the fishman and the deaf woman.

Watched this right after it came out on Netflix in November. Cinematography was amazing, but overall, it was a big disappointment. Too long, really bad CGI, superfluous characters (Waltz as Harlander), overacting by Isaacs, and Goth’s Elizabeth was an embarrassment.
If you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating.
