THE MUSIC LOVERS is like being a fly on the wall..Outradeou, intimate,ironic and funny, equally horrifying with the greatest music , camera work and design .What Glenda Jackson does here is not to be believed.Might be Ken Russell most personal masterpiece.

I was surprised to see them releasing this movie in the same year as AOC; it has similar themes of bereavement and the mourning bringing a family together to implode in a similar fashion. -

I haven't decided whether or not to watch "If I Stay." Even the preview made me cry, so I don't think I will.

I found it very similar to John Cassavete's A Woman Under he Influence (1974) it almost feels like Cassavetes directed himself..
It has the same kind of thick family drama with the same kind of acting. -

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, without a doubt.
Dysfunctional family with secrets, intense performances, superb acting and dialogue. They both take place in mostly one setting, which I love because it makes it claustrophobic and ramps up the tension.
I think there is a lot of Tennessee Williams in August: Osage Country. I wasn't surprised to learn that the playwright was inspired by his works. -
