    Halfway through my second viewing I realized again how truly atrocious this film is.
    It's hard pressed to find redeeming qualities in any of the characters. None of them connected with each other or gave the audience any real reason to care about them. Certainly one of Meryl Streep's worse performances of the last five years spitting and slurring out incomprehensible, inexplicable lines to nobody in particular.
    Julia Roberts is long past America's Sweetheart! If it takes dialog where every other word is beep or GD, to be nominated for an Oscar or Globe, then I'll stick with TCM.

    We few, we happy few;
    We Band of Brothers" ~ W.S.

      They connected with each other, but unfortunately the feelings were negative.. due to the history and patterns.. of a disfunctional family and the suffering involved.

        When we seen the trailer, it was presented a funny,drama family flick but we seen it at the cinema all we got was a 2hr depressing show. The ladies in the front row of us said the same thing "it had a great trailer but depressing film".
        Us Aussies love to be entertained, not to be treated to some bore/snore fest (the art house Dendy cinema screens those movies)
