Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The September Issue

Appearing on David Letterman? Surely she had to know that he was completely clueless about her, Vogue, fashion itself and that it couldn't have been any more uncomfortable than it was. The only possible rational behind the decision was that they were trying to make that late night adult audience just a little bit curious enough to go and see it, perhaps even pick up a copy of this year's issue.
Surely a wiser decision would have been to have her show up elsewhere (perhaps it will happen) like the Today Show or another of the morning shows where the female hosts would know enough about her, fashion, the magazine and the movie itself to ask good questions, show genuine interest and thus generate the right kind of buzz.
I felt bad for her that she was subjected that spectacle. She didn't deserve it.

I thought it went well, for what it was. Letterman is about entertainment and AW certainly gave as good as she got. I think her primary objective was to raise the profile of the film and subsequently raise the profile of fashion, which she achieved.

I would not have heard about this film, had I not seen the Letterman interview. My curiosity was piqued enough that I actually went to see the film, and I am not interested in fashion at all, but in the creative process, and the creative mind. By the way, I was the only person in the theater on a Saturday 11:40 am showing today.

it may just be me, but I've noticed that Anna is becoming a lot more 'public'-or at least open to making appearances
it could have been "The Devil Wears Prada", but her position at Vogue, her antics, and what happens behind the scenes at Vogue in general have become almost as well known as the magazine itself
it's like a reality show! One of the most important publications in the world, and the woman who powers it is the icy, ruthless Queen of Fashion-that alone is enough to grab people's attention
(I'm not saying it SHOULD BE a reality show-Vogue would fall into ruins causing the fashion industry to die a horrible death-but I'm saying that it's similar to the plot of one)
VOTE 10/10, WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED

I thought that was an amazing appearance. She was great.
