Does anyone know why the cover was changed from what the documentary showed vs. what was actually on newsstands? This wasn't discussed at all in the film, which I found odd, as much of it focused on which photo would be featured on the cover
    Covers shown in documentary:

the documentary showed various ones, i don't think they necessarily changed the cover just that there were various ones to choose from. Do you get what I mean?

I do see what you mean, but they never even showed the photo that ended up being on the cover as a contender I don't think the published photo was even there amongst the others! I know that Anna seemed unhappy with so few options, so maybe they did another photo shoot to get more photos to choose from I just thought it was weird that they didn't even SHOW the "winning" photo in the film since so much of the last bit of the documentary focused on choosing either the photo with Sienna's mouth closed or the one where she was showing teeth. It didn't seem like they were even considering anything else.

If you stick around, the final cover is in the closing credits of the film, and the new cover is actually shown on news stands. There is also a split second shot towards the end of the film where the new cover is being shuffled around on a desk, and you can see in the film that the original cover shot ended up inside the magazine. You're right, tho, about no mention of other covers - at one point, it's specifically stated that the final decision is between the two covers (and never mentioned a third). Personally, I think the joke about feathers did the original cover(s) in!

The final cover is shown as an option at 1h10min in or so.

Nonsense. The discussion over the two "covers" takes place between Mario and Charlie. Anna wasn't in the room. She was still peeved at Mario for what she felt was a very underwhelming editorial and she sent him off with Charlie because Charlie is the ultimate bs artist and ass kisser and would put Mario in a better mood before he left to back home. The ultimate decision about the cover would be made by Anna, and obviously wouldn't be made until
              after
Mario (who is a world famous fashion photographer that Anna wouldn't want to embarrass
              too
badly) left so they could all talk bluntly.
