I agree, one of the surprises of frightfest for me, really enjoyed it. It was perfectly placed as well, coming after the grim The Seasoning House.

I saw it at the Fantasy Filmfest in Stuttgart yesterday. I went in knowing I would like it because - hey, has Alan Ford ever done anything I didn't like? 😉
And I wasn't disappointed. It's nicely written, playing around with some tropes, but mostly comes to live through the Britishness of all of it, what I guess was what the director was aiming for (judging to his video message screened before the film - sadly he couldn't make it himself). Also the movie manages to present Michelle Ryan as extremely sexy in a pro-feminist way - cudos for that! 😄

Immensely fun film. Love the song at the end as well - "You can fill 'em full of lead but they won't stay dead!"

Great British zombie film - up there with
                Shaun of the Dead
                .

I liked Shaun up until the last 20-30 minutes when it went all serious and depressing. Had to look away at a certain character's death in this as well. But overall I liked it a lot.

Um. I think the change of tone in the last part of the film was a very clever move.
The real love affair is between Simon Pegg & Nick Frost
Yeah, it bounces us right back into the real life. but those subtle shifts in tone pop up, throughout the film.
That's what makes it so memorable - coming at us from left field, all the time.

OK. That's cool if it worked for you.

if you're expecting the exorcist or rosemarys baby you'll be upset. if you like to just sit back and enjoy a movie, this is for you

It's a great fun film. Watched it again on the Horror Channel last night. The gore isn't too heavy, even when
                          Clive dies
it's over with quickly. It also has two of my favourite lines in film, both spoken by Ray.
"No you soppy tart! Those things out there are effin zombies!"
"Oi! Zombies! Get the f out of my East End!"
