Enjoyed in spite of BR ripoff

I used to be one of those guys until I saw the movie and then read the trilogy. Other than the base premise of kids killing each other to the last, the rest of the story rips off Batle Royale's notorious sequel.
In regards to the two films, I much preferred the BR portion of the games as I felt the THG really pulled back to hit the PG-13 rating. But I thought THG was far superior in creating the tension leading up to the games than BR. BR starts off too quickly and you never really get to know any of the characters nor the tension they are feeling going into everything.
To me, THG portion of the movie leading up to the games actually felt superior to the book which is fairly rare for me. As they couldn't implement a lot of the book into the film due to the inner monologe, the book also couldn't really express the tension a lot of the characters felt that the actors were able to portray. -

the unpreparedness of the kids in battle royale is what makes it a great story to somewhat relate to. Showing how regular, untrained people would react to the situation i.e. practically everyone, and how relationships breakdown when pressured (the lighthouse scene).
I'm not trying to bash on the hunger games or anything (which I have yet to see) but the title is quite misleading as the slides really TRY to say "Here's why 'The Hunger Games' is better than 'Battle Royale'" which just annoys me and frankly just makes me want to do just that because of this poorly researched article.
I mean, you could have used my previous example of the kids not being prepared in battle royale versus the training gone through the contestants in the hunger games and focused on more how that essentially makes the movies not the same thing but no. I see you slightly mentioned that but then continue on with a condescending tone towards Battle royale, laughing at the improper translations of dialog during a death scene. -

I hope you watch Battle Royale
I've come up with a theory that the BR trolls have a financial interest in Battle Royale and are furious that their investment didn't pay off. Hence all the postings proclaiming Battle Royale to be a "classic" or "masterpiece", accompanied by attempts to guilt Hunger Games fans into watching Battle Royale. They even proclaim Battle Royale II to be a successful movie even though it was a thorough flop.
How else account for their repetitive posts on the subject?
