my older sister loooooved the movie that the show was based on, so she completely boycotted the show -because it didn't have the same actress playing Buffy. I kind of hated it with her in solidarity. But like you I just couldn't get into it either.
I think you have to be a little jaded by life to get why corny stuff is entertaining lol -

Oh wait i know what u are trying to imply here.. But bro german national tv had countless reruns of that show. And i just happened to watch one of those in those years of my childhood.. Hence i remember i couldnt get into it.
