my older sister loooooved the movie that the show was based on, so she completely boycotted the show -because it didn't have the same actress playing Buffy. I kind of hated it with her in solidarity. But like you I just couldn't get into it either.
I think you have to be a little jaded by life to get why corny stuff is entertaining lol
