Yep. La Scala di seta, by Rossini. The first tenor was crushed by accident on opening night (someone dropped a screen on him) but the show received rave reviews from the press.

I bet that theater is haunted now. Fleas probably refuse to play there. Theater folk are very superstitious -fleas even more so

True. The production of Macflea, for instance, was dogged by bad luck. The three fleas playing the weird sisters fell into their pot by accident and drowned (or were boiled alive) and Macflea himself got lost in Birnam woods and was never seen again.

I had no idea how dangerous theater work was for fleas. I'd say they should quit the business altogether but everyone knows they're natural performers
