You're on the cusp. I know they haunt you, attended by those sister sprites, the sentence fragment and the run-on sentence.
But yes, you're probably not hungry. His comma splices could fill a post. In his case, in fact, they often do. -

I cannot tell you how much I'm enjoying this! It's not often that someone as hopelessly outclassed as you are walks into my parlour. Do tell, how would you judge my literary or academic credentials, in the unlikely event of your being in a position to do so? Would you ask me challenging questions about texts you haven't read?

What are you doing in a parlour?
So, are you going to be explicit and claim you're a professor of English? It seems as though you're afraid to commit so you can pretend you're something else later when this all goes wrong for you. -

I haven't actually publicly claimed anything. My admirers have inferred my status. But I don't mind claiming to be a professor of English. How would someone like you, who makes a couple of errors in a paragraph, possibly disprove my claim? I am on tenterhooks! -

Still not explicit, I see.
I'll ask one last time, to see if you'll step out from behind the shield of ambiguity. Are you a professor of English? -

Of course I am! What a dolt you are to think otherwise! Do you think any ordinary mortal, unpossessed of an advanced degree, could have so pwned you over so many posts?
