Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Grabbers

Right down to every characteristic, not that it bothered me at all. Just couldn't help but notice the way they wrapped around faces with squid like "legs". The first one that was in the corner of the ceiling was an exact copy of what Noomi Rapace cut out of her stomach, also the big one in this film was just like what the one had grown to be in the ship in Prometheus, wonder if the film makers were aware of it or it was just a coincidence?

A coincidence. Grabbers was completed well before Prometheus came out (and even before the film's marketing campaign).

Yep, it just shows how unoriginal Prometheus is.
I mean, you know that even in Alien (1979), the creature design was based on various earth animals just like the monster movies of the past, right?
At least Alien and Grabbers had the excuse/purpose of trying to update and parody "B-list" Monster movies respectively, and succeeded at doing so whereas Prometheus well, the bigger they are the harder they fail.
If you care enough to go around telling people you don't care you obviously care.

Yeah, it's a squid. Murderous, alien squid, but a squid nevertheless.

No, it didn't. It looked like the monster in the Dragon's Domain episode of Space: 1999. I know Prometheus has a lot of haters, but the facehugger thing was awesome.
