Why Everyone is so pissed about the last season?

Personally, I don't like the ending, it felt cheap and the motherhood theme was out of tune. But the season overall kind of had it everything it needed. The first half was pretty intense and I was wondering how they could tie up the documentary to the whole story and I think the twist for including the imaginary cast for a return show was a brilliant idea.
Afterall, we are surrounded by such shows dealing with spirits and haunted houses and that is a trendy subject and adding a background to a typical genre was what made me get into the story more. They built story around the gore and thriller genres, which I always thought this series lacked, and even put a touch of critism to our perception of media today. And this one did not have the classical Ryan Murphy touch of musicality like the last three seasons.
Could you give your opinions why you think it sucked -if you do think so, of course- ? -

Hotel? I wouldnt even say FS had
a touch of musicality
. The only one that did was one small segment in Asylum.
No, I do not think this season sucked. I dont think any season sucked. AHS for me has always been entertaining. -

Thanks for your comment. I also adore each series. That is the reason why I wanted to hear people's opinion about negativity.
By "touch of musicality," I meant that the motivational drive in the characters, like Lady Gaga wanting to be an immortal glory, or in the previous one Lange wanting to be famous. This kind of theme was almost always in the show. Not that I don't like it, but sometimes it ruined the
horror
part of the show for me. It is a personal opinion, though.

Ah right, I understand now. I didnt like the name game (as a song and dance routine it;s fine but in the show it dragged me out of the moment. Lots of people loved it though). I didnt like Stevie Nicks' number - but same, lots of viewers on the board loved it. I loved Elsa's numbers - I found them quite tragic, but lots of viewers didnt like them. Every single season has been polarising, so the dislike you;re seeing on the board, FB etc is nothing new.
Wow I had a quick look at fb this morning and got out of there fast. Much much more complaining there than on here.

Was entertaining season it was a bit drawn out for the last few episodes. And you could have just finished with episode 9 with Lee being the last survior. The last episode felt like a footnote especially the Spirit Chasers bit that felt like filler. Overall though it was fun

I prefer when there's an epilogue, only season that didn't have one was season 3, and a lot of people have a problem with that finale as well. I think if there was an epilogue in addition to the last episode of Coven, I would've enjoyed it more.

Glad to hear there are others who don't think any season really sucked for one reason or another. I like every season, and hope there are many more seasons to come. I like Asylum best. There was a lot going on that season. It would have been complete even without the alien side story.
