Wow. No. Lana is now in her 70's or so. Audrey was Audrey at her actual age. Audrey played Shelby but Shelby was younger. Threw in that last part just cuz it's true but none of the ladies are 'the same person's in the AHS universe

Think of it like theater. You have 20 cast members in a two-hour show with 35 roles. It doesn't make sense to have someone play a part that only occurs in the first act, so they play a new part in the second act. This usually doesn't happen in movies and TV - it's less for the logistical needs of a small space, but more because we want to see our favorites. Like when everyone went "That's it?" when Evan Peters showed up and died in one episode, he was brought back for a couple more in a new part, explained that he was playing the person who played that part in the fake show.
Lana is being used for one episode, and they didn't want Sarah Paulson to sit out the other 9. -

but Hollywood has thousands of actors, so using the same actor to play a different role but not using any disguises or prostethics is just lazy casting.

In the AHS universe, they're two entirely different people even though they are played by the same person. It's like in Hotel where Sarah Paulson appeared as two characters: Hypodermic Sally and Billie Jean Howard. No one in the Hotel confused Billie Jean with Sally when they saw her.
