Why are they bringing back the alums and having them appear in 1 or 2 episodes, or in minor parts? There was a lot of hype about Tessa coming back and being the first Supreme and she was in half of tonight's episode before being killed off. Evan Peters didn't have much of a part. If I didn't know it was him, I wouldn't have even known Finn was on this season. Same with Frances Conroy and Dennis O'Hare.

A: It mixes things up.
B: It's probably hard to get every alum for the entire shooting schedule, so inserting them in 1-2 episodes means they only need to shoot for a week or a day.
It's neat fan service, except when he kills them off. ("Hey it's Matt Bomer! Hey, it's Matt Bomer minus an arm!""Hey, the guy from Maroon 5! Hey, the guy from Maroon 5 minus an arm!" "Hey, fan-favorite Evan Peters! Hey, fan-favorite Evan Peters is gay! What's dripping on Audrey?")
