Oooohhhhhhh I seeeeeeeeee wait!!! So you have actors playing fictional characters telling a story being re enacted by other actors? I know it's supposed to feel like a documentary but it's not so that's why I'm confused lol

You're not an idiot and not annoying. Maybe you've never seen a dramatic re enactment before. Try YT for air crash investigations. The real life pilot or crew member speaks to camera about an incident. An actor re enacts what happens for dramatic purposes. This is the first time the show has used this format.
OT, I was just coming home from an appointment. Drove past the local sports' field and had to stop because snake catchers were re enacting the catching of a deadly snake for a documentary or something. FAAAARK. Snake season is upon me. My worst nightmare. -

Season 6 presents itself out as a show within a show. The interviewed Mark and Shelby are a part of the documentary series called 'My Roanoke Nightmare.' That's why you would see cue cards of that title popping in and out between commercial breaks. CGJ's and Lily Rabe's versions of the Millers are a part of the reenactment in their stories for dramatization. Other survivors and witnesses get their chance of an interview too, like we saw with Lee for instance.

Can I just add that I understand that about air crash investigation where you have real people speaking to a camera crew and then it's re enacted by actors. My confusion is not that I don't understand that, it's that I don't understand why it's done like that because they aren't real people talking to a camera crew they are actors.
Again, it may be just my ignorance or idiocy but is that not the difference between air crash investigation and this? It must be just me, but in my humble opinion that just seems pointless to me as in, how does that add to the show when it's not actually a documentary. I sincerely apologise if my stupidity offends anyone it's just that I watched that episode thinking if that aspect of the show wasn't there and we just, for instance watched Cuba gooding jr and Sarah paulson play out the story would it change the story in any way? In ACI I understand why it's done because they are real people telling real stories, in this they are not and I've never seen anything like that in a show. To me, it was just distracting and that's what I didn't really get. Sorry for wasting everyone's time and thanks for all your replies. -

When you're watching a tv show or a movie, you're not supposed to keep remembering they're actors. You're supposed to pretend it's real while you're watching it. Same thing here. While you're watching the show, just pretend and believe that the people giving interviews are the real people that all of this happened to, not actors. Pretend only the people who are seeing teeth falling from the sky and getting their intestines ripped out are actors.
