They keep claiming this is based on a true story: the disappearance of the Roanoke Colony. The name for "The Butcher" is accurate, though she was Irish and the accent Kathy Bates uses has bastardized northern English elements. But Lady GaGa? WTF? She's supposedly "English", descended from Druids (even though by definition she would have to be Celtic, since the English derived from Saxons, who were not Druids), but she sound - I don't know. That's not any kind of British accent I've ever heard. Worse, how is she suppose to have gotten there, or the soldiers who imprisoned her? The Roanoke Colony was the first English settlement in America; that's the point. So she couldn't have been there.
Now, I know it's horror fiction, but even so, if this storyline is to make sense there has to be some logic and consistency. I can take the fact that there's no record of Governor White's wife actually being deputized, and even of the failure to mention her granddaughter, Virginia Dare. But placing a Druid descendent when there's no possible way for that story to have taken place? And what about the Native Americans? I mean, c'mon!!
