Thank you for understanding my frustration.
I know a lot of other posters also remember and are just having fun with this, but it's driving me crazy that it remains an 'issue'.

Where the heck did someone come up with Gary Weintraub Jr.??? Must be some kind of inside joke, but I don't get it.
I know where "Gary" comes from, but not the "Weintraub Jr". On one of the Afterbuzz shows, Trieste Kelly Dunn said that when they were filming
Tribal
, when Hood was telling Siobhan his real name, Antony Starr kept whispering "Gaaaaary" in her ears. So "Gary" became a joke.
Then, on a later Afterbuzz show, Tropper took the joke further by saying it's "Gary Schwartz", making him Jewish. So maybe someone just gave him another Jewish surname, I don't know.

Lol. Lisa, this is from an interview with Tropper from a link provided in another thread by mgreen.

Oh, and before you get excited and think you learned Hoods real name if you paused the screen to read the FBI file that Special Agent Veronica Dawson left on the hotel bed for him to find. John Smith is not his real name.
There is actually a Banshee Origin where he gives that name when he gets arrested, said Tropper, referring to the Interrogation webisode with Reg. E. Cathey as Detective Bonnor. Thats not his real name. Its a name he gives being a smart ass to the cop that is interrogated him. Not his real name.
So no one will ever know Hoods true identity. I dont know it, he said.
