Jenny Ortega is making this movie almost intolerable to watch!!

Her character is a such a ****ing Brat! She cannot even be happy for her mother's success or feel any type of sympathy for her mother's awful gift of being a psychic medium??
And she's in nearly every scene too.
The movie is supposed to be kind of light hearted and have dark humor but Jenny Ortega really brings that to a screeching halt. If it weren't for me wanting to know exactly how Beetlejuice and Lydia interact with each other again, I would turn this movie off. -

Don't know if it helps, but a lot of it comes from the fact that she is supposed to be the female counterpart to the son in Big Fish - she stubbornly denies the spiritual, craving science and climate changes. BB is about her getting to understand her mother's spirituality and like in Big Fish they end up reconciliating. However, Lydia is the main character reflecting Tim's own demons and that why it ends with her (De Palma) nightmare that the dark shadow will always be a part of her.
