There are two theories of who little Albert really was, no one really knows for sure the true identity of the infant they used. In one theory the mother worked in the same building and somehow didn't know the tests were being performed and the other theory states the caregiver of Little Albert, his wet nurse (not his mother), was coroced into allowing them to test on the child.

My psychology teacher told me that Albert was in an orphanage because his mother was really poor. Apparently she started working at the orphanage, as a wet nurse, so that she could spend time with him and try to earn enough money to get a place for them both to live. Whilst she did agree to the experiments, she had no idea that they were going to be as.cruel and.immoral as that. But by the time she found out, the damage had been done. I didn't realise he'd died at age 6 though, that's even more sad. Do you know what killed him?

From the wiki page.. it sounds like they never did positively ID who little Albert was though they had a STRONG lead to who he could have been.. and if they are right, (which sounds like they are) he lived to be in his 80s. He never liked dogs.
