Almost every negative post on here gets a response from someone who tries to attack the poster's intelligence.
It might be because most of those negative posts are like yours, empty and hollow, and just ranting about how this movie is "not smart" without providing any decent points for your "opinion". Negative posts are also almost always a frontal attack on the intelligence of people who do like this movie, implying that they are just people who like "to feel smart but are actually dumb" and don't know anything about movies.
Your post is completely useless. Nowhere do you describe in a decent and coherent way why you didn't like this movie. Instead, you chose to use insults ("derivative crap") and talking about "plot holes" without providing any examples, and projecting your own political bias about the world ("messages of globalism and liberalism"). You use also irrelevant examples using other movies, and write even more about that than "Arrival".
You just bring nothing here, except your own poisoned bias, unable to discuss anything without using "ad hominem" attacks, because movies don't really interest you, only the fact to feel "superior" because you didn't like something that many many people love.
If you guage a person's intelligence by their opinion on a movie you probably aren't a very smart person.
Says the guy who writes in the same post about people who like "The Martian",
You could hear
the low information/high ego people
cheer because they thought they were proving how advanced they were and felt the movie had to be smart because it said it was over and over. That leads to the sad conclusion
these low thought people
reach of thinking that anyone who doesn't like it is stupid or only smart enough to enjoy an action movie.
Fortunately your post tells me everything that I need to know about you. You will do a fine addition to my ignore list.
It is prejudiced and depending on how you react to them very possibly proof you are an uninformed bigot as well.
So that's mean you acknowledge the fact that you're an uninformed bigot? Good for you, it's the first step towards talking about movies and not about how people react to them, and feeling bitter and resentful towards art. -

So Nat didn't like this film because it does not agree with his politics. He could have saved himself many typing strokes if he'd just gotten to his little point.
But he probably felt good making his meaningless little rant.
Arrival in fact is an intelligent film. That's probably another reason he hated it. -

Not an intelligent at all, just something for pseudo intellectuals to pat themselves on the back for watching. With or without the politics, the story was full of plot holes and the writing was juvenile.
It is interesting to note the obvious anger you feel towards people who have a different opinion than yourself. You are apparently immature and poorly adjusted person at best or a flat out angry bigot at worst.
