Is there a good Jason movie? All I can find is one that got 39% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Isn't there a better one that that?

      Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
is the classic one. Haven't seen it (yet) but I understand it's pretty good. I just checked RT and it currently holds a certified fresh with 93%.
      I watched
      Jason and the Argonauts (2000)
quite a long tome ago and all I can remember is that I found it okay.

Yeah, I think the 2000 version is the one I found yawn-making mediocre. I'll try the earlier - sometimes in spite of FX advances the old ones hold up better. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'd go so far as to say the 1963 version is the only movie that got Greek mythology right. (Not necessarily the details, but the tone and philosophy.)
          "Me fail English? That's unpossible."

Why, when a story has fascinated and survived for a thousand years, do they feel the need to beef it up? Thanks for the warning, I'll stick with the 1963 one!

Just happened to see the 1963 epic again today. It's the apex of Ray Harryhausen's art and in all respects has never been bettered. The effects are amazing, especially when you consider they were all done by one man with a camera, while manipulating complex models. And a great Bernard Herrmann score. Yes, stick with '63.

Agreed! With all the special effects madness, you'd think someone could have bettered it by now, but quality stands the test of time! This version is my favorite, too!
