Season 1

The short answer is: cats. I am often stuck under two cats and I don't want to disturb them as they snooze hard on me, so I need something that immerses me for some hours.
I also don't like waiting a week between episodes unless it's a procedural/episodic tv show, as in, each episode being a new story, like
Poirot
, or the various Sherlock Holmes shows, for example. Otherwise waiting a week takes me out of it and makes me not care much. With GoT I watched each episode as they aired because even though I read the books, I didn't want the show spoiled, and avoiding spoilers for that was impossible. I hated having to wait a week for every episode. Then after each season was done I would rewatch it in binge mode and it was always better binged.
I actually binged
The Terror
a little slower than my normal pace.
I have no complaints about anything in this. It worked really well.
I realised at one point oh god everyone is going to die awfully… Oh lord the carnival episode. -

aw nice.
makes me miss having cats (or any pet) with me here, but then i'm not made for having someone (pets or kids) i need to take care of. lol i can barely take care of myself
Otherwise waiting a week takes me out of it and makes me not care much.
that's true, and it's even more extreme between seasons, when we have to wait one year or even longer for the continuation. i usually have to rewatch the finale of the past season before i get into a new one bc i simply forget about most of what had happened a year before. so it would be even more efficient if i waited until the show is finished and then start watching, and i actually did that in the past for some shows, so i can watch all seasons in one continuous run. but where's the fun in that, when everyone is talking about the current season lol while i'll told myself to wait with watching until they're all done?
yeah, i think i'll have to re-watch all episodes building up to the carnivale episode before i can talk about it. but jeez, it was a helluva ride!
i'll let u know for when i'm ready to talk. it'll be soon.
suck it. -

I've always had cats. Once, a dog
and
cats.
I love animals. They love me, too.
Yeah I hear you on the year-long waits. And then there's the stupid TWD that has mid season breaks when it's already quite boring. Mostly filler and then one episode of action.
The discussions/spoilers depends on the show. GoT was way too popular so it was impossible to avoid them. And the show deviated from the books so eventually there were proper spoilers. There are plenty good shows that aren't being watched by
everyone
. But of course that means when you want to discuss it, you'd have to look for the people who are into it. Like here. -

Loki - you’re not wrong about me recognising everyone. It’s like they’ve randomly cherry picked all the quality Brit actors from recent acclaimed dramas.

Superb show.
In Canada, the story of the Franklin Expedition has additional meaning as a national story, given the mystery around it, the multiple searches for the crew and the ships over the years, and the moral of the danger of failing to adapt to, and respect, the North. -

I'm just watching on BBC iPlayer, loving it so far but it is brutal and has inspired me to watch far too many YouTube video about the real life expedition.
So, it's not just the one story?

Jared Harris is amazing, a real chip off the old block, if only Franklin had listened to him though
True story, when I lived in Kent I once saw Richard Harris driving an open top sports car. I also saw Tom Baker on a train, he was fast asleep pretending to be lol
