The first half was excellent then became a bit slow and predictable once they wound up in the basement. Also the screenwriter made the mistake of telling the viewer what happened instead of showing. The ending was a bit weak but other than that it was enjoyable. I’d say worth watching once but not twice
6/10

Loved it and give it the same rating you did. Hugh Grant was great, and has aged well. I've heard the religious arguments before through various documentaries but I didn't know about the Hollies/Radiohead etc thing.

I guess I can't imagine it without the vocals on Air that I breathe. Anyway I liked the analogy in the film. I enjoyed the film overall, I thought the first 2/3 were better than the final bit but enjoyable all the same and Hugh knew Hugh could be so creepy (groan sorry!)
You stupid fuckers, you know who you are. -

Tried what?
To murder a man whose house they are invited guests in, who has made no threat to them whatsoever while also making it abundantly clear they are free to leave out the back door?
By the time when something is actually going on I don't believe there's really any opportunity to do that, anyways.
Someone making you feel mildly uncomfortable while engaging you in a religious discussion you started doesn't seem like something a judge would be willing to excuse murder charges against.

they could have tried!
