Didn't expect much from this movie, but it was actually pretty decent and Hugh Grant plays a great role as a creepy maniac tormenting some young Mormon irritants. If you don't like LOTS and LOTS of talking, this isn't the movie for you though. Well worth checking out, especially when there hasn't been a decent movie released in ages at theaters.

He's creepy af.
I watched the trailer awhile back, but on mute. For some reason, I thought it was the guy who played Danny on King of Queens, but older. I thought the same thing when he played the midget on Wonka. Of course, as soon as he speaks I forget all about that nonsense.
I do think they look a bit alike.

For real. Hugh Grant is a name I am familiar with but have rarely ever encountered him in any movies, and if I did see something with him in it he and the movie were forgettable af.
Isn't he best known for some sappy british romcom?

yeah, i was right. the movie dialog is meant for younger characters. like 14 year olds. but the actresses are 24 years old, and the makeup/costumes make them look 30. so if you want 30 year olds pretending to be teenagers this is your film? i guess.

The first half was excellent then became a bit slow and predictable once they wound up in the basement. Also the screenwriter made the mistake of telling the viewer what happened instead of showing. The ending was a bit weak but other than that it was enjoyable. Iβd say worth watching once but not twice

Loved it and give it the same rating you did. Hugh Grant was great, and has aged well. I've heard the religious arguments before through various documentaries but I didn't know about the Hollies/Radiohead etc thing.
