The lady detective is the ONLY character who isnt fooled by lou. She knows he is a psychopath. I get the feeling she is gonna try and take lou down when his luck runs out

Did you miss the point that the story is fiction? Meaning it ended where it ended.

I know its fiction jackass. However like any story of fiction people analyze it which is what makes it fun. Sorry but you deserved to be called out. Next time be more respectful and you will get a better response

I was not disrespectful, some people actually think this story was real. In truth you cannot do what you seek, to answer what happened after the movie ended because as fiction nothing happened. I am just reminding you of that.
You don't need to be a jackass about it, you are the one who started the discussion after all! It takes a very immature person to only accept responses that he/she agrees with.

              You CANNOT be serious.
Everyone other than Nina in the station was against airing the footage. The lawyer they consult even says it won't be OK to air. Basically, everyone in the world knew what Lou was doing.
That detective is a character written to basically show that no matter that they have on him, Lou will get away and get a happy ending like most of the people like him do.
So no, she wouldn't be taking down anything other than maybe a large order of McDonald burger and fries, to keep herself in shape.

You may be right in that in real life, someone like Lou will get away for a long time. But most career criminals (which, in effect, Lou is) make that one fatal mistake in the end. All it needed was one video camera autofilming while Lou jacked his rival's car, and he'd have had it. Someone like Lou will make those kinds of mistake over and over (and bigger and bigger ones as he did here) until one blows up in his face. He was getting careless and now he's got more interns to be careless about. More witnesses too.
It has to happen. And that's real life, as well.

Yes but you are forgetting that this is why he hired people.
If people under him get caught he will push them under the bus and will remain free while his minions are arrested and charged. Nothing to charge him with since I doubt it he will tell them to break law.
All he tells his people is to "WORK HARDER" to get the news as fast as possible. People driven to impress him will break laws themselves. So he just have to keep nudging them without stating he wants them to break laws.
You have to be smart about this. Lou is smart. He knows what he's doing.

I think whether the detective got him or not would depend on whether she could get a court order to seize all his equipment and computers to see if he withheld evidence. And given how he films everything, even his employees death, I think it wouldn't be hard to convince a judge that he was probably lying when he said he didn't film the two men and their SUV.
Also, he changed his story about not really having got a good luck at the men. Another reason a judge would be inclined to issue a search warrant is that cops got killed and injured.
So I would say the ending was implausible. Finally, the cops were stupid to accept edited footage, given that there were three murders.
