Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

    Chicxulub — 1 month ago(February 06, 2026 06:02 AM)

    💣
Per Collider, the film was removed from approximately 1,500 theaters over the weekend
    after grossing only $1.6 million
    .
The sequel, written by Alex Garland, cost around $63 million to make and, as it stands, has only brought in $53 million.
$53 million…worldwide. The previous one made 3 times that.

For those who enjoyed the first movie and watched the previous one, it was SO obvious that this was going to happen.

I thought the ending of the last one was a bizarre and awful direction to take the franchise…I guess around 2/3rds of the people who saw it felt the same, because they didn't come back for this one.

Seems like you have good taste. It was very ambitious, or arrogant, of them to run this new three-parter as a cinematic experience.

              Anyways — 1 month ago(February 06, 2026 06:50 PM)

I refuse point blank to go watch that garbage and that's coming from a huge fan of the original two.
The previous installment left a sour taste in A LOT of 28 fans' mouths. Fool me once and all that.

It actually wasn't as bad as part 1 altho they went for the gore factor with this movie. It was slightly better than the previous installment which no longer exists to anyone.
