is what Shohreh Aghdashloo reminds me of. I recognize her from 24 and star trek but I don't remember her voice grating on my every nerve like it does in this show. It makes me wonder how she ever continues to get work when an actors job is to enunciate clearly and be understood. I've been tempted to watch on CC as her voice is too distracting and I love Cookie monster and Tom Waits.

She does sound like a cheese grater when she speaks!

I found both her voice and her over-the-top performance intolerable in "24".

Yeah that scene in the bar is what really made me go "WTF is with your voice?" I don't remember it being that bad in the first season.

Her appearance, and her voice are soooo distracting for me (not in a good way) that it's hard to pay attention to the plot and I end up looking at her like some sort of a freak show on display.
It makes me wonder how she ever continues to get work when an actors job is to enunciate clearly and be understood.
I wonder the same. Not really sure why she's supposed to be some big deal.
