A beautiful call to celebrate who we are

There are a lot of things going on in Transparent, but after watching this stunner of a season finale, it's finally crystal clear to me that "celebrating one's true self" is the fundamental theme of the show. obvious? Sure. But I'm talking beyond gender or sexual preference here. It's about celebrating who we are, regardless of our flaws and attributes we might typically want to hide away from others. it's about not being afraid to be who we really are, even if your family has already cast you aside. This might be the first episode of Transparent for me where I felt Shelly really carried it, and where I cared about Shelly. What's absolutely brilliant is that it appears that the rest of her family appears to be in the same boat. Literally (ok fine, "ship"). It's an especially stunning end to the season by packing such a powerful personal punch with a character we had virtually written off. And it made me more excited about the show, and life, than ever. Bravo, Transparent. You give us something beyond simple TV. You give us something that really matters.

Thank you! You beautifully expressed my exact same sentiment also. The finale was a masterpiece!
