Meh. A giant nothing burger. Not terrible, but just there. It's very boring and anticlimactic; both the finale and show, I mean. Very average. I don't get all the "amazing" talk or awards chatter. That's incomprehensible to me.
I believe Joel let the nurses live. They were no threat. The doctor, Marlene, and the soldiers were.
The debate over Joel's actions is something that has been going on since fans finished the game. The Fireflies are scumbags. They expected this dude, who walked across the ****ing country, to just let them kill a kid? After all that? They didn't even ask her if they could kill her, they were just gonna do it, and expected him to roll over and accept it. And Marlene and her sheep have the balls to call FEDRA fascists? After making that decision for her. Fuuuuuuuuuuck them. -

Yeah, I don't get it what is so bad about Fedra.
Why are the FFs fighting them?
I wish the program would show that.
Any ideas why Marlene did not go with Joel?
Why bother being at the hospital at all?
Why didn't she stay in Boston?

People hate authority, often irrationally so. Fedra keeps them safe and alive, how dare they not let people come and go freely risking infection coming into a quarantine zone. That's not to say authority can't be wrong or corrupt, but compared to some of he survivors out there in the "wild"? Life in the QT isn't so bad.
I think Marlene had too big a target on her back. A small group protecting Ellie decreases their chances of getting noticed. -

If somebody ordered me to turn around like that I would expect to get shot. Could he have knocked them unconscious? The story of what happened there does have to get out somehow. There are ways that don't require witnesses.
I would have told her they planned to remove her brain. But he thinks she would have accepted her fate? Their rift when she learns the truth is the big drama we have to look forward to next season. They're going to settle down in the commune and at some point raiders or a zombie hoard will come and so on. Sitting around and getting domesticated doesn't sound like appealing television to me. I hope I'm wrong. -

He should have said you're damn right I killed them. I killed every last one of them, gut shot that stupid black bitch, pissed on her head, and left her to bleed out. And I liked it.

It's really weird seeing people discuss the ending of a highly regarded story that's been out since 2013 that they're only just now getting around to through the TV series.
A lot of people complaining that it's just people walking and talking, that there's too many gay characters that make the show woke, and that Joel shouldn't have hidden the truth from Ellie.
These are all things that happened in the game.
Just wait until Season 2 if you want to see Ellie discover the truth and how she handles it. -

Does the hospital stuff also happen in the game?
Do they threaten to kill Ellie to get the cure then Joel goes on a murdering rampage to rescue her?

i had the same question about the nurses if he kept them alive or naht. it would have made sense, for him, to kill everyone in that hospital, so i think he did kill them… altho maybe not killing them is going to keep the narrative going, like Joel and Ellie being on the run from the rest of the Firefly people. whatelse is there going to do for them in season 2? live a happy life ever after at his brother's safe zone? boring. if the latter then it'd be a very stupid plot point tbh, but we'll have to see what happens next. only the gamers who played the game will know for sure. lol
