White martians have the same powers as green ones so they can shapeshift, also that is the white martians natural form.

! - Not if they want to reveal it as a big shock later down the road, only point to do so now is if it's to introduce a powerful ally that wont be around for a while or to keep an already established powerful and shady character relevant.
