You're absolutely correct with your statement. It is indeed neither of those films. Films that are also not Oldboy or Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mad Max: Fury Road, Hobgoblins and many, many more.
If you're referring to quality, that's another matter altogether.
I heard a rumor they were getting married but someone left the papers in Japan.

very few movies can ever reach old boy territory since that twist ending was so utterly massive that it can't be done again without someone else guessing it.
