I'm sorry but Season 2 has been terrible!

I was a HUGE fan of Season 1. Season 2 has consisted of a lot of Bad Overacting, Lame Character-Development and Terrible Dialogue. Very little of it is believable so Plot-Development has been weak as well. Pure Melodrama. Really breaks my heart that a show can nose-dive so quickly. I heard a similar thing happened to "True Detective" too though I did not watch that Series.
Oh well guess I'm back to reading novels because it seems so difficult to keep the quality of a tv series consistently strong, it seems. -

I was hoping this season was going to be the end of it.
Maybe that's because 97% of my viewing diet is movies and 3% television. I started to get annoyed when every episode becomes about creating new cliffs to hang from instead of weaving a good story that builds to a satisfying climax.
After nearly two dozen episodes of this, I kind of want to know what the big reveal is, but on the other hand, I don't care to wait another 12 episodes for it to come. More red herrings, new characters, a wider spiderweb of connections and players. It's all meant to yank my chain. Quite frankly, I'm done with the Christian Slater bit. Plot moves at a snail's pace while they tediously dialogue stuff.
Nothing wrong with making a series of just a couple dozen episodes that are thrilling instead of this exercise in stretching things out and seeing how long it can go on before it runs out of gas. -

The problem you will have with this series is that before season 1 even aired, FX gave their approval for multiple seasons.
That meant that everything didn't have to wrap up in 10 episodes.
I guess you can blame the creator for knowing how many episodes he has for his story.
It was originally envisioned as a movie, I think. -

I hear a lot of people grumbling about the show but I don't understand where it's coming from.
I'll admit it took me a few episodes of season 1 to get into it but once I was in I was hooked.
I thought S1 was great but season 2 took it to a whole new level. Everything from the score to the cinematography and yes even the ode to Fight Club.
This story basically picked up the ball where FC finished. They don't try to hide it either.
Big call but I think it's the best thing to air all year. I'll wait until the show wraps up before I declare it top 5 all time, but if it continues like it is, it's a shoe in. -

What exactly is wrong with s2 in comparison to s1?
Nothing. Season 2 is great, if not better than season 1. The only real downside is the lack of Tyrell, but his absence is actually part of the story; which all in all is a little darker and a bit more surreal and complex. Season 2 haters are boneheads.
You're dumber than you think I think you are. -

Pretty much agree. I had been waiting eagerly for the dvds to get released on Amazon and bought season 2 straightaway as soon as they were.
While there were some moments I enjoyed, overall I didn't like S2. I'll give it a few weeks and see if I can sit through it again (after all, I watched S1 twice) but I'm not sure how eager I'll be to see S3.
